Waste Diversion Committee Application Form

When choosing citizen appointments, preference shall be given to a membership composition that represents a diverse range of perspectives with respect to waste diversion and environmental stewardship. Membership will be encouraged to include perspectives from local environmental organizations, business owners, agricultural operators, and youth. 

In 2025, the Waste Diversion Committee will review how other municipalities are promoting waste diversion and implementing Ontario's Blue Box Transition. The Committee will also provide recommendations to Council on initiatives that could be undertaken.

By submitting this form, I confirm that I am eligible to serve on the committee under the Town's Advisory Committees By-law. That is, I am at least 18 years old, I am a resident, business owner or property owner in Greater Napanee, I am not currently employed by the Town or by an advocacy organization that receives funding from the Town, and I am not the spouse or partner of a current member of Council.

Advisory Committees typically meet monthly on a set schedule for 1-2 hours, and may either hold daytime or evening meetings depending on the availability of the majority of members and support staff. If appointed to a committee, you will be required to attend meetings, or to notify the committee of the reason you are unable to attend. 

Personal information, as defined in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001 and in accordance with MFIPPA. Personal information collected on an application form will be used to assist in the selection of appointees to the various committee and may form part of public meeting agendas and minutes. If appointed to a committee, personal information may also be used by Town staff to conduct committee and Town business. Questions regarding the collection, use and disclosure of this personal information may be directed to the Clerk.
